In an effort to further raise awareness of the need to spay and neuter companion animals, Race Car Driver, Tony Eichem, will be carrying the Paws to Love, "Prevent-A-Litter," message at NE Kansas area race tracks.
YOU ARE ONE OF ANIMAL LOVERS WHO HAVE VISITED THIS SITE - WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF ANIMALS IN NORTHEAST KANSAS AND BEYOND!
Under the corporate umbrella of PAW County Animal Response Team, Inc., two animal welfare groups, The Pottawatomie County Animal Response Team, Inc. (PAWCART) and Paws to Love Animal Rescue, Inc. combined efforts in 2007 to make a greater impact.
HERE'S WHAT WE DO:
Paws to Love P.A.L. "Prevent a Litter" Spay/Neuter Voucher Program : (785) 456-3324:This subsidized spay/neuter voucher program is designed to provide more affordable services to those with financial need.Paws to Love does not provide subsidized spay/neuter to those who can readily afford such services, nor does it expect private veterinarians to reduce their costs.Paws to Love raises funds to subsidize the costs of a spay/neuter for lower income residents of Pottawatomie and Wabaunsee Counties.
PAWS TO LOVE OCCASIONALLY HAS ANIMALS FOR ADOPTION THROUGH THEIR LICENSED RESCUE PROGRAM. We choose our animals carefully and they are placed in family foster homes for socialization until an adoptive home is approved. Our adoption process is to ensure the right match for our dogs and cats and to ensure that the home selected will be their forever home. Our available pets are listed on Petfinder.com.
Pottawatomie & Wabaunsee County Animal Response Team (PAWCART) (785) 220-3242: Incorporated in June of 2006, 4 months before the PETS Act was signed into law, requiring that animals be included in disaster planing, PAWCART is a small grassroots team of citizens who have joined together to help their communities respond to people with companion animals and livestock in times of disaster. Volunteers are always welcome!
Therapy Animals Assisting People (TAAP) (785) 313-0121: TAAP is a program developed and coordinated by Kim Garver Brown (Pottawatomie Co. CART Coordinator) to certify therapy dogs for those living with mental illness.
